Sermon Notes App Update Coming Soon!
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to announce that a new and improved version of the IL Sermons app will be launching next month! This updated version includes:
✨ Rebranded visuals for a fresh new look
📝 Enhanced note-taking features like bullet points and italics
📲 Increased stability for the latest iOS and Android versions
☁️ Improved Google Drive sync and backup
🔄 Want to Backup Your Existing Notes to Google Drive?
We strongly encourage you to export your current notes over to Google Drive, please follow these simple steps to export them to your Google Drive:
1. Open the “Settings” tab in your current app

2. Tap the “Login” button under the Google Drive section

4. Grant the required permissions and tap “Continue”
3. Select the Google Account you’d like to back up to


5. Tap “Export to backup”, then “Continue”

6. Wait for the export process to begin — you’ll see a prompt: “Data will be backed up to Google Drive. Do you wish to proceed?”, tap “Continue” to proceed.

7. A loading bar will appear to show the progress. Please wait while the export completes.

8. Once successful, you’ll see the confirmation message: “Successfully exported to backup.”

9. To confirm, search for “sermons.ilc” in your Google Drive

🔐 Why Are These Google Permissions Needed?
We’re committed to transparency and privacy. The app requests limited access to your Google Drive only for backing up your sermon notes.
What the app can do:
🔧 See/Create/Delete config files – to store your app settings
🗂 Access sermon notes files only – to save, update, or delete your own notes
📧 See your Google account & email – so your notes stay linked to the right account
🔗 Associate with your Google identity – to ensure seamless syncing
What the app will never do:
🚫 Access or read unrelated files in your Drive
🚫 Share your data with third parties
🚫 Read your emails or contacts
Your data remains secure and private, used solely to support your note-taking experience.
