![#HEROESOFTHEFAITH | After last weekโs cliffhanger, we come to the final and most devastating plague - the death of every Egyptian firstborn.
With the death of all firstborns in Egypt, God was rendering the powers of Pharaoh (Raโs incarnate) useless. Ultimately, Godโs dismantling of Egyptโs counterfeit gods was part of His plan to show both the Egyptians and Hebrews who He is - the one true God.
Later at the Red Sea, we see how Israel responded to another challenge. Despite seeing how God miraculously delivered them from Egypt, Israel still could not fully trust God. They trusted their sight more than they trusted in the living God.
This teaches us a sobering lesson - witnessing miracles does not necessarily give us the faith to stand firm when new challenges come our way.
We know how the story ends - God once again rescues Israel in a glorious way. Yet what we ought to take back is learning how to respond in faith rather than fear when we face situations that seem impossible.

The destruction of Pharaohโs military might was the tearing down of the final Egyptian idol. Moses, on the other hand, trusted God completely in the face of the impossible.
